Merrill House Wedding – Andover Maine

Maureen and Mike held their wedding at The beautiful Merrill House in Andover, Maine. This mansion is an amazing location for a wedding. It is filled with all sorts of antiques and oddities.

Here’s Maureen figuring out where to place the flags, she and the brides maids were cracking up all day.

Mike got ready elsewhere in the house. This is the living room which has three completely sperate sitting areas and all sorts of large game.

The wedding ceremony itself was held outside on the lawn of the Merrill House, with everyone in attendance circling the group.

And to continure the Made in Maine theme, there was no “cake” but instead several different flavors of Whoopee Pies!

An incredibly vivacious dancing crowd raised the roof! Such a GREAT time! Thank you all for keeping it CRAZY!!

Ski-Esta wedding – Newry Maine wedding

So much fun with Dana and Geoff at the Ski-Esta mansion right outside of Bethel, Maine. They had booked online and when they arrived. they were blown away at how majestic it really was in real life. They pranced around like kittens.

Photography Maine

Since it was a wedding where everyone invited stayed for the weekend right in the house, much effort was spent finding the perfect sleeping plan for everyone.

Photography Maine

The next morning, getting ready right in the house was relaxed and fun as can be. Check out the bathtub in the bridal suite! A whole bridal party could squeeze in!

The ceremony was right in the great room, along with the reception, and getting the the wedding involved a quick walk about the house! Portraits were shot right in the backyard with a killer view of the Mahoosucs.

Brunswick Maine backyard wedding

Andrea and Nick got married on a family property in Brunswick Maine in their “backyard, hundreds of acres on the ocean, made up of farmland, woods and seashore. They each got ready separately before meeting up at the ceremony site.

The two of them have so much joy for each other, they laughed all day, even (especially) during the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the two of them (and the bridal party) took a walk down to the ocean. We took advantage of the many beautiful spots for portraits.

The reception was so comfortable, so relaxed. Andrea said that the day was exactly how she imagined it was going to be. She was tearing up over and over, I loved seeing the emotion!

Wonderful Outdoor wedding – Tenant’s Harbor wedding

Emily and Jose have spent the last year planning their wedding on Emily’s family property, The Villa Fiori, from Australia. Emily is a Maine gal and Jose is from Chile. Emily got ready with a few of her close gal friends. They did not have a traditional bridal party, but the gals all gathered around for the hair and make-up all the same.

Once on the property, the ceremony was held in an amazing structure, it felt like being at the Acropolis all day. A very romantic setting, designed by Emily’s father.

I loved their “guest book”, a puzzle that everyone could sign, even the littlest of guests.

An awesome fireworks display set off for the couple.

It was a wonderful evening and a perfect wedding. When asked if she had any advice for couples getting married, Emily had this to say: “Just enjoy your party! This is probably the only time in your life you will be surrounded by this group of people you love and they are all celebrating you. It is amazing.”

Ocean-side wedding – Gouldsboro, Maine backyard wedding

McKenzie and Dwayne held their wedding right on the rocky coast of Downeast Maine. Because they were getting married at the tiny McClellan Park, they brought in their godparents camper for the gals to get ready in. It was the perfect solution!

The actual ceremony was right on the rocks, the sun was gorgeous and it was a perfect October day in every respect.

Maine Gay Wedding – Covered Bridge Wedding, Newry Maine

Peter and Jesse ‘s wedding was a road trip wedding. We started in Boston at Brasserie Jo, delicious French cuisine, and caravaned up to Sunday River for an Artist’s Covered bridge wedding and the best backyard reception. The moms could not have been more proud and happy for their sons.

Photography Maine

The guys got ready at the Sunday River Grand Jordan hotel, nestled in peak foliage.

I often don’t feature detail photos; I fancy myself a photo-journalist, but I adored these hanging mason jars. Pooh Corner took the Jesse and Peter’s vision and executed it perfectly.

The tented reception was in Peter’s father’s backyard, and the dance floor was hopping! There was touching speeches of how fortunate we are to live in a time and place to be able to celebrate gay marriage. Everyone is looking forward to legalizing gay marriage in Maine. (get out and VOTE!)

Moms and bridesmaids dancing gangnam style was a sight not to be missed.

Vacation Home by Rental Wedding- York Maine wedding

Elizabeth and Ryan had their wedding at the gorgeous Vacation-Rental-by-Owner property in Cape Neddick. I adore weddings at small private residences, wheter they be family homes or vacation rentals. Such a nice intimate vibe, even if there are a hundred plus guests, like at this wedding.

Enjoy!

I was so happy to have Maine wedding photographer, Rene Minnis, on hand to second shoot. She got tons of awesome details shots as well as this shot of Lizzie and Ryan “tying the knot”

Maine House Wedding – Woodstock, Maine Wedding

I just adore a destination wedding where everyone comes up to Maine and takes a vacation together. It’s a wedding party that can all settle in to a vacation rental or two on the shores of a beautiful Lakeside house that is guaranteed to have a wedding to remember!

Erin and Ron had their wedding and honeymoon and family reunion in The Maine House in Bryant Pond (or Woodstock) Maine.

Backyard Maine Wedding- Otis Maine Wedding

Stephanie and Bjan, two incredibly fun warm restaurant managers from Florida, stole away for a weekend to get married at Bjan’s aunts lakeside backyard. It was a gorgeous casual affair.

If you’ve got legs like Stephanie’s you’ve got to rock the garter and the shoes. Oh my god, the shoes!

Joan Montgomery, Bjan’s aunt, did a surprise solo during the ceremony. My fellow wedding peeps will know her from The Maine Wedding Association, but I doubt many know how she can throw down a song. It was an instant hit with the wedding party!

We ended the evening with a little sparkler display. Yes, we made a cute heart around the couple, but you’ll have to hit up Facebook to see the rest! Thank you so much! I had a rippin’ good time!

Intimate Glen House Wedding – Newry Maine

Sherri and Scott threw their wedding affair at the very fun Glen House in Newry, Maine. Sherri and Scott each had two boys of their own before making their new family. The house during getting ready has the same energy as many getting ready rooms I have photographed, but instead of a bunch of bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids, there was a gang of young men. Too much fun!

I don’t usually blog my “formals” but the guys helped me out by letting me bounce some lights off of them and they had a “See No Evil” vibe going that I adored.

This is the first “first dance” I have seen where some of the guests were cooling off in the pool. 🙂

It was a really intimate event, and since it was a destination for everyone, they decided to have a mid-week wedding and avoid the hot competition for their vendors. They got first choice for everyone!
